MARC SPECTOR

marc has taken to more-or-less living in the mr. knight suit (mackay run) and mask on account of his intense self-loathing and desire not to, like, look at his own face. despite seeing a very nice and reasonable therapist after the whole age of khonshu bullshit (thanks, aaron), marc is presently fully committed to forcibly suppressing his DID and the alters of steven grant and jake lockley because why deal with your problems when you can just avoid them.

marc's appearance runs the gamut from put together — that is, clean-shaven, with a healthy pallor, no dark circles, little bruising — to utterly dishevelled. when he's struggling with his mental health and throwing himself (only) into vigilantism, his appearance tends to thoroughly reflect this — dark circles underneath his eyes, facial hair — whether it's stubble or a thoroughly unkempt beard, untidy, unconditioned hair, bruising — facial, bodily, everywhere. marc's approach to fighting is essentially: why dodge?

or in the words of taskmaster: "of all the fighting styles, I've ever tried to copy, [yours] is easily the worst. have you ever seen a punch you wouldn't prefer to take with your face?"

what I'm saying is, it's not just the talking to an invisible egyptian god that has people thinking marc's crazy, you know?

he's difficult to get along with, abrasive and blunt with a very dry sense of humour. surprisingly eloquent and very fond of dramatics, marc can be charming when he wants to be, he just ... often isn't. also: slightly warped perception of reality.

he can occasionally1 be an utter shitheel of person, otherwise he's a not-great person who's trying to be a good person.

1 specifically, he has a past as an utter shitheel of a person, currently has the propensity for being an utter shitheel of a person, but is trying Real Hard not to be an utter shitheel of a person.

STEVEN GRANT

steven appeared when marc was a child, first as an imaginary friend then as an alter. he's a charismatic, millionaire playboy. a director and an investor. he dislikes violence more than either marc or jake, and is used to a Certain Lifestyle. he's the funds of the whole moon knight operation, used for obtaining information accessible only by high society.

he takes more pride in his appearance than marc and jake, is often clean shaven and is horrified when marc fails to take care of the body.

JAKE LOCKLEY

the grumpy uncle.
fake moustache that may or may not be obviously fake1.

ostensibly the most charming and down to earth of the three, albeit in a distinctly more rough and ready kind of way. jake, in contrast with marc and steven, speaks with a new york accent and is noticeably working-class — jake makes a living as a cabbie and has a fondness for diners and dive bars.

is frequently seen wearing flat caps and garish combinations of colours.

1 depends on the writer, but current writer (mackay) has gone on record as stating that he likes to think that most of jake's associates know it's fake moustache and just, like, don't say anything. which is fucking hilarious.
